Part 1: Mt Kilimanjaro Climb:

Itinerary:

Day 1:  Drive to Marangu Gate which is 1800 meters above sea level.  Register and start the trekking to Mandara which is about 9 kilometers and 2700 meter above sea level.  During the trekking you may be lucky to see black and white Colobus monkeys which are familiar in this rain forest. If you arrive early you can visit the Maundi Crater or pass there the following day on the way to Horombo.

Day 2:  Depart to Horombo after the breakfast. After a few minutes walking you finish the forest zone and start the moorland zone to Horombo which is 3700m.above sea level. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.

Day 3:  This is an acclimatization day in Horombo Hut.

Day 4:  After an early breakfast you start trekking to Kibo Hut (4700m). You will pass Mawenzi ridge and saddle before arriving at this last hut to the top. Dinner and few hours sleep before the trekking start to the summit. First you reach Gillman’s point (5,865m.) in five hours and later proceed to Uhuru Peak via Stella point. After taking pictures of sunrise and a great view you descend down back to Kibo for breakfast and rest.

Day 5:  Walk down to Horombo for the last night in Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight in Horombo.

Day 6:  After breakfast walk down to Marangu Gate to collect the “Mt. Kilimanjaro Gilman’s and Uhuru Peak’s Certificate”.

End of Climb.

Part 2: Northern Safari Circuit – 6 days

Itinerary:

Day 7: Breakfast in Arusha. After breakfast you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for all day game viewing. Dinner and overnight will be at a designated Lodge/Hotel.

Day 8: After breakfast, a drive to Serengeti National Park through Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with optional visit to Olduvai Gorge. Game viewing en-route, dinner and overnight at the Lodge/Hotel.

Day 9: Full day game viewing in Serengeti, meals and overnight at the designated Lodge/Hotel.

Day 10: Another Full day game viewing in Serengeti, meals and overnight at the Lodge/Hotel.

Day 11: Early game-drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. All day game drive at NgoDinner and overnight at the designated Lodge/Hotel.

Day 12: After early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for game viewing. In late afternoon or evening hours ascend and proceed to your Hotel/Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Early morning drive to Tarangire National Park. After lunch, a drive back to Arusha in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/Hotel in Arusha.

End of the Safari.

Note the following:

  • The accommodations may also vary depending on the locations of good game viewing from season to season. Accommodations are in Lodges (standard to luxury) but upon request, can be in basic camp (public or private), permanent tented camps or luxury mobile camps. When we know your travel dates and plans we will advise accordingly.
  • If you wish to fly from Arusha to Serengeti or Serengeti to Arusha it is possible and we will customize the itinerary accordingly. This itinerary can be customized as you wish. 
  • If you are arriving at Kilimanjaro/Arusha Airport or in Arusha by shuttle bus let us know so we can arrange meeting you on arrival to make things even smoother.
  • We will be happy to know your travel plans so we can customize this itinerary or any other itinerary for you. We are a full service company and we will be able to take care of all accommodations: before safari, on safari and after safari; airport and hotel transfers; and internal/regional flights.
  • Camping and lodge safari have almost same packing list but in case you have questions let us know. 

For those interested in human history, you will be fascinated by a visit to Oldupai Gorge (misnamed Olduvai) and Laetoli Archeological Site, an area which holds the earliest evidence of the existence of human ancestors.
